Hong Kong ~ up close and personal ~ through Koover’s lens
Perspective …
A fresh start for the new year …
Thanks to the generosity of family and friends (and a very, very kind friend of a friend who let us stay in his apartment while he was on holiday), our family enjoyed a fabulous week long vacation in Hong Kong over the New Year. It was the perfect blend of visiting and reconnecting with old friends, and much needed focussed family time. We took planes, trains, busses and trams. We walked, and walked, and walked some more. We laughed. A lot.
A few observations about Hong Kong (not the typical tourist guide book info) …
1. Everyone in Hong Kong seems to be in a hurry. They are in a rush to get somewhere and they are not afraid to push their way through crowds to get to where they want to go.
2. Everyone is on their phone. all. the. time.
3. If they are not talking on their phone, they are using it to take pictures. Of absolutely everything!
4. Dark colours are fashionable on the streets of HK. Black, grey, and a little more black.
5. 15° c may not be cold in Canada, and maybe my body has just acclimated to life on the equator, but 15°c in Hong Kong feels cold!
6. Honk Kong is so much more than a concrete jungle. Gorgeous hikes, beautiful beaches, lush forests.
